Plan for Upcoming Week of System Upgrades

When your car needs inspection or your computer needs a new operating system, you have to schedule a fair amount of time to take care of these important tasks. Similarly, every once in a while, Temple's technical staff needs a block of time to work on upgrades to keep our systems up to date.


Since Temple never really shuts down for business, our technical staff looks for the best periods of time to schedule large system upgrades with minimal disruption. Over the next week is one of those times because Temple is in between semesters.


So mark your calendar for the following system downtime while upgrades are installed:


  • Major Banner Upgrade

    Saturday, May 12th, from 6:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m.
    Systems affected: Self Service Banner (which includes Banner Finance, Banner Human Resources, Banner Student, & Banner Advancement Functions), Internet Native Banner (INB) and its components, TUmarketplace, Banner Relationship Management (BRM), Banner Document Management System (BDMS), Guest Access Request System, and Workflow
  • Listserv Upgrade

    Tuesday, May 15th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    Resources affected: Email messages sent to will be queued up and delivered after the upgrade. Standard university email service will remain available as usual.
  • University Libraries' Integrated Library System Upgrade

    Tuesday, May 15th from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
    Resources affected: The online catalog, borrower account information, E-Zborrow, and electronic course reserves - alternative catalog access available
  • Blackboard Upgrade

    Friday, May 18th, from 10:00 p.m. through Saturday, May 19th, 3:00 a.m.
