Note: Temple does not recommend purchasing an Apple iPad as a primary computer. The iPad, for example, does not have USB ports or Ethernet capability, and does not support Adobe Flash, which is a technology used on many web sites. While the iPad is an innovative device and has many uses, including convenient web browsing, at this stage it is not a replacement for a PC or Mac.

Software for Students

As a Temple student, you are eligible to:

• purchase Symantec Endpoint Protection software for your personal desktop/laptop computer for a one-time charge of $8 per computer,
  
  
• obtain JMP statistical software (Windows or Mac version) at no cost through Temple's site-license program,
  


• obtain MATLAB technical computing and model-based design software at no cost through Temple's site-license program. Temple University has a license for MATLAB, Simulink and 48 other Toolboxes which are all products of Mathworks.
