Effective March 2013, Computer Services is distributing Version 7.2 of the Antivirus for Home Use CD. The CD contains the latest version of Temple's Symantec Endpoint Protection software. This software is highly recommended in protecting your computer against viruses, spyware, and other malware.

Note: This offering does not apply if you use a registered Internet connection in a residence hall or campus office. In this case, your computer is covered by the on-campus site license and you can download this software from the antivirus.temple.edu site. Access to this Web site is restricted to on-campus use.

Purchasing the CD

Current students, faculty, and staff are eligible to purchase one Symantec Symantec Endpoint Protection CD for each home computer. The cost is $8 per CD payable by employee payroll deduction or added to students' tuition bill. Note that you must present a valid Temple ID at the time of purchase and also sign a form acknowledging purchase.

Obtaining a Free Upgrade

If you previously purchased an Antivirus for Home Use CD, you are eligible for a free upgrade to the latest version. You can obtain the upgrade from Temple's Download web site (http://download.temple.edu). Make sure to follow the instructions on the Download site to first uninstall your existing antivirus software. Computer Services recommends that you obtain this important upgrade to ensure your computer remains protected from viruses and other malware.

Note: To comply with software licensing requirements, you are eligible to download one upgrade per number of CDs you originally purchased. For example, if you previously purchased two CDs, you can download the upgrade on two computers.
