Welcome back to Temple! I hope each of you enjoyed your winter break. I would like to remind you that if you are new to Temple University, or if you are returning from winter break and have a new computer, that you must go through the GetConnected process to register your computer. This must be done before your computer can gain access to our network. The GetConnected process is easy. Once you are in your room, connect your new computer to your network jack, go to https://getconnected.temple.edu and follow the directions for registration.
For those of you who are returning with the same computer that you were using last semester, you will not need to re-register unless you removed either the Temple personal firewall agent or Temple's Symantec Anti-Virus software. If you did uninstall one or both of these components, you will need to go to the above link to terminate your existing service and re-register. Our Computer Services Help Desk (215-204-8000) is ready to assist you with these issues.
Please note that for security reasons, student installed wireless routers and other networking equipment is strictly prohibited in the residence halls. As a reminder, please review our policies regarding Computer and Network Security, Computer Usage, and Peer-to-Peer File Sharing. These policies can be viewed by going to http://www.temple.edu/cs/policies.
