Temple Phishing Attacks Continue

Today we received a different type of phishing attack through our email system. This particular email looks like it is coming from Synergy Bank with a subject line of “Alert.” This scam asks the user to call an 800 number. When the number is dialed, a voice recording asks for you to enter your credit card number in order to activate your credit card. Please do not respond to this email or call the listed phone number. If you respond, you will be giving a hacker your credit card information.

Please remember that the Help Desk is always available to assist you in determining the legitimacy of an email. If you need assistance determining if an e-mail is genuine, you may forward the message to help@temple.edu.
