Warning – New Phishing Attack

Please be aware that a new phishing email has shown up in the inbox of several Temple users this morning. This phishing email was crafted to look very much like a legitimate Temple email. Please do not respond to this email as you will be giving a hacker your login credentials. To be clear, the phishing scam asks you to reply by email with your AccessNet username and password. This particular email uses Temple’s TUmail graphics so that it appears to be coming from our webmail system.

This attempt is by far the most serious phishing scam we have received because the email appears to be authentic. Always remember that Temple will never ask you to send your password in an email. The only legitimate way to change your account information is by going directly to the accounts.temple.edu web site. You may also log in to the TUmail website without risk by typing in tumail.temple.edu, by using a bookmark or favorite, or by entering TUmail through the TUportal.

If you have any questions regarding this memo, please don’t hesitate to contact the Help Desk at 215-204-8000 or help@temple.edu. help@temple.edu.
