The university has purchased a site license so you can use the app to view notes from your instructor, check your grades, participate in blogs/journals/discussions, track tasks, and more. The Blackboard Mobile Learn app is available for all Apple IOS devices (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch) as well as for Android and BlackBerry devices. Pay Less for Software with Academic Pricing Current Temple students, faculty, and staff can take advantage of greatly reduced academic prices when purchasing software from specific websites. Computer Business Services has negotiated contracts with a number of vendors for discounts on many popular programs. Many discounts are substantial, for example, you can purchase Microsoft Office 2010 for $99.99. For a list of available programs, go to Journey Ed or Software House International (SHI). (For Account Sign-In on the SHI site, use templeuser as the login and temple as the password.) Search the sites for software you wish to buy. When you are ready to make a purchase and are prompted for your e-mail address, use your @temple.edu address to verify your Temple affiliation. Conduct Classes & Meetings Online with WebEx Faculty and staff who wish to conduct classes, meetings, or events online can now use a highly-rated, industry-leading product called WebEx. WebEx provides a live community environment through real-time video, voice, and chat. WebEx also offers a number of options for collaboration. Hosts can share their desktop and files, show PowerPoint presentations, perform live editing, and allow participants to perform these same functions as well. You can use WebEx to conduct a course online, hold a meeting or consultation, provide a training session, or host a webinar. When you schedule a session, WebEx sends an automatic e-mail message to participants with a link to join the session. A reminder is also sent on the day of the meeting.
