Featured Stories Wireless Printing in Labs for Students The breakout rooms in the TECH Center offer students the privacy and resources needed to collaborate on group projects. These rooms are furnished with a flat panel wall display and a desk with a computer set up for group interaction. Three breakout rooms are equipped with multimedia, surround sound, a large screen, and a DVD/VCR console. In addition to the ten breakout rooms on the second floor, there are three additional rooms on the first floor. To use this resource, students must request a room at the Information Desk on the second floor of the TECH Center. Enhance Your Presentation Skills Presentations are frequently an important vehicle for communicating ideas in a classroom as well as at meetings. Learning the skills to develop effective PowerPoint presentations can be a time-consuming process. With Lynda.temple.edu, however, current Temple students, faculty, and staff can take advantage of free, 24/7 training to learn specific PowerPoint skills and presentation techniques. Approximately ten PowerPoint courses about a variety of topics such as learning essential features, technical tips, and presentation skills as well using audio and video to create more engaging presentations are included in over 1,100 course offerings. To access this resource, go to lynda.temple.edu and log in with your AccessNet username and password. Professionally Produce a Multimedia Project The multimedia studio in the TECH Center is a flexible space built to meet multimedia production or practice needs of students. The acoustically-treated studio includes studio lighting, audio and video equipment, and a computer on which to mix and engineer projects. Note: To use the multimedia studio, you must make a reservation at the Information Desk on the 2nd floor of the TECH Center and attend a short orientation to the studio. Antivirus Software for Home Use Installing antivirus software on your computer is an important step to help protect your privacy and data. Current students, faculty, and staff are eligible to purchase one Symantec Symantec Endpoint Protection CD for each home computer at a cost of $8 per CD. The fee is payable by payroll deduction for employees or through the tuition bill for students. Note: At the time of purchase, you must present a valid Temple ID and sign a form acknowledging purchase.
