Listserv Quick Reference Guide |

This quick reference guide for list owners provides instructions for performing the most common tasks on the listserv.temple.edu system. As a list owner, you may also find the Commands for Listserv Owners a useful reference for managing your lists. NEW: The Listserv system at Temple was recently upgraded to 16.0. This new upgrade includes a redesigned interface as well as enhanced security features. A short video tutorial is available that highlights the main features of the new system. |

| Adding a Single Subscriber | |
| 1. Go to listserv.temple.edu and click Log in to Listserv. | ![]() |
| 2. Enter your e-mail address and password and click Log In. | ![]() |
| 3. Click List Management > Subscriber Management. | ![]() |
| 4. Click Select List and choose the list you want to manage. | ![]() |
| 5. At the Single Subscriber tab, go to Add New Subscriber and do the following:
a. Enter the e-mail address and name of the new subscriber.

| 6. A message will display confirming that the subscriber was added to the list and indicating if a notification was sent. | ![]() |
| Deleting a Single Subscriber | |
| 1. Go to listserv.temple.edu and click Log in to Listserv. | ![]() |
| 2. Enter your e-mail address and password and click Log In. | ![]() |
| 3. Click List Management > Subscriber Management. | ![]() |
| 4. Click Select List and choose the list you want to manage. | ![]() |
| 5. At the Single Subscriber tab, go to Examine or Delete Subscription and do the following:
a. Enter the name or e-mail address of the subscriber. |

| 6. At the View or Set Subscription Options window, do the following:
a. Confirm the notification option. |

| 7. A confirmation displays that the subscriber was deleted and indicates if a notification was sent. | ![]() |
| Adding or Deleting Subscribers in Bulk | |
| 1. Create a text file containing all the e-mail addresses you want to add to the list. Enter one e-mail address per line. If you want to associate a name with an e-mail address, add a space or tab after the address and then type the name. For example: ab@example.com Anne Boleyn henryviii@example.com Henry VIII -or- Create an Excel spreadsheet and save the file as Text (Tab delimited). |

| 2. Go to listserv.temple.edu and click Log in to Listserv. | ![]() |
| 3. Enter your e-mail address and password and click Log In. | ![]() |
| 4. Click List Management > Subscriber Management. | ![]() |
| 5. Click Select List and choose the list you want to manage. | ![]() |
| 6. Click the Bulk Operations tab. Then, do the following:
a. Select the function, such as adding addresses, removing all subscribers, or removing imported addresses. |

| 7. When the operation has finished, the action and number of subscribers added or deleted will display at the top of the window. | ![]() |
| Editing List Configuration | |
| 1. Go to listserv.temple.edu and click Log in to Listserv. | ![]() |
| 2. Enter your e-mail address and password and click Log In. | ![]() |
| 3. Click List Management > List Configuration > Manual List Configuration. | ![]() |
| 4. Click Select List and choose the list you want to configure. | ![]() |
| 5. At the List Configuration (list name) window, change the settings for your list and then click Save.
Note: For information about the variables, click List Management > List Configuration > Alphabetic Keyword List. |

| Viewing List Subscribers | |
| 1. To review your list configuration and to see who is currently subscribed to your list, click List Management > LISTSERV Command. | ![]() |
| 2. Click Select List and choose your list. | ![]() |
| 3. In the Command field, type review Listserv name and click Enter Command to send the list of subscribers and list configuration to your e-mail acccount,
Note: To display the list of subscribers, go to Useful Commands and click Review list name. |

| Viewing Public Lists | |
| 1. To view lists that are publicly accessible at Temple, click Email Lists. All lists that have been configured for public viewing will display. | ![]() |
| Viewing Listserv Archives | |
| 1. To view the Listserv archives, click Email Lists. Then, go to Access Unlisted Lists, enter the name of your list, and click Search. | ![]() |
