PC Clinic In response to the dramatic increase in the number of computers compromised by viruses and spyware, the Help Desk has created a new free consulting service called the PC Clinic. A PC Clinic session consists of a small group of students, faculty or staff who work with an assigned Help Desk consultant to troubleshoot and repair their own computers. By taking an active role in the process, participants learn preventive measures for avoiding similar problems in the future. We are excited about the success of the clinic and the positive feedback we have received from students and staff. We do insist that if you wish to come to the PC Clinic, you take an active role in correcting the problems with your computer. Otherwise, you can rest assured that the same problem will return and your computer will be rendered useless again quickly. Our goal is make you aware of how you can take some simple steps to keep your computer secure. Don’t worry if don’t have much knowledge about your computer. That’s ok. We’re just looking to help you develop the skills you need to keep it running at its best. The PC Clinic is open to students, faculty and staff by appointment only. At this time, PC Clinic sessions are held weekdays, Monday through Friday. There are three three-hour sessions each day: Morning sessions run from 8:30 am until 11:30 am, afternoon sessions from 1:30 pm until 4:30 pm, and evening sessions from 6:00-9:00 pm. The PC Clinic is held at the Help Desk which is located in room 106 of The TECH Center on Main Campus. To schedule a session, contact the Help Desk at 215-204-8000. |
