I am pleased to announce the release of TUmarketplace, Beta version, Temple's new online one-stop shopping site where you can browse, buy, and take advantage of automatic payment for departmental purchases up to $5,000.00.
Similar to Amazon.com, this innovative resource enables authorized Temple staff to conveniently browse through items offered by University-contracted vendors and quickly place orders. You can shop more efficiently by keeping track of frequently ordered items, refer to previous orders, and generate reports when you need them. You can also save money by comparing vendor pricing.
The ordering process is streamlined as you can combine multiple vendors into one shopping experience. A separate purchase order is automatically sent to the multiple vendors within your single shopping cart. Commodities available from vendors include scientific and lab supplies, computer hardware and software, maintenance, repair and operating supplies and more. Since payments are processed quickly, this new service will reduce many P-card expenditures and eventually eliminate expenditures on master purchase orders.
Accessing TUmarketplace – Level 1, 2 or 3 signature authorization If you have Level 1, 2 or 3 signature authorization, you will see a link to TUmarketplace when you log in to TUportal at http://tuportal.temple.edu. Accessing TUmarketplace – Level 4 or no signature authority If you do not have Level 1, 2 or 3 signature authorization, you must be granted permission to access TUmarketplace through the signature authorization process. You will need to complete the Signature Authorization Form found on either the Controllers website at www.temple.edu/controller/forms.htm or the University forms page at www.temple.edu/forms under Controller. There is a separate Signature Authorization Form for Administration (AD) and Sponsored Programs (SP). The TUmarketplace level must be selected on the form. (For specific information on signature authorization policies, please see the Controller’s web site.)
Once the Signature Authorization Form has been processed by the Controller’s office, a link to TUmarketplace will appear on http://tuportal.temple.edu after you log in. Once you click on TUmarketplace, you will placed in a pending status. Within one business day, your account will be fully activated and you will be able to login to TUmarketplace. At that time, you must update your profile information to include your designated cost center numbers, your Bill To and Ship To addresses, and your telephone number.
