With the launch of Banner Finance on July 1st, 2009, access to all financial systems is available through TUportal under the Banner tab. By using TUportal, you need to log in only once to gain access to all financial tools.
If you are an FMS user, your ability to requisition, review and approve purchases, query data and view reports will convert seamlessly in most cases from the current environment (TUmarketplace, FMS, and signature authorization) to the new environment.
Please be aware, however, there may be a few cases where the access and authorization rights do not translate from the current FMS system to Banner. The disparity in these individual cases is most likely due to adjustments made in finance security and signature authorization necessary for specific business practices.
Test Your Access and Authorization Rights
To make sure all access and authorization rights are correct, we strongly encourage all employees with financial responsibilities to access the Banner tab on the portal and test access to TUmarketplace, Self-Service Banner (SSB) and the cost center reports available through Cognos. For assistance in how to use these new financial tools, please click on the Help icon located at the upper right-hand corner on TUportal. Under Help, you will find online training materials, including videos. Also, you may register for Finance Banner Basics, Cognos Consumer and TUmarketplace training through the Human Resources Learning and Development web site.
