Google Apps available to Exchange users
Exchange users have the opportunity to take advantage of Google Docs, Sites, and Instant Text Messaging used by Temple students, alumni, and many employees with TU Gmail accounts.
For additional information, go to the Google Apps for Exchange Users web page.
Prioritize your e-mail
The Priority Inbox feature in Gmail can help you manage your e-mail by separating and identifying important incoming messages. After you set up this feature, click the Priority Inbox link to view messages grouped into three sections: Important and unread, Starred, and Everything else.
To set up Priority Inbox in TU Gmail, click Settings, Priority Inbox, Show Priority Inbox, and Save Changes.
Google offers option to change Conversation View
By default, Gmail groups an original message with all e-mail replies into a Conversation or thread. You can change this setting and display all responses as individual messages. To turn off the Conversation setting:
- Log in to TU Gmail.
- Click Settings.
- At the General tab, go to Conversation View and click Conversation view off.
- Then, click Save Changes.
Get to know Google Apps
Many people use their Temple Gmail daily, but don't realize that there's a whole suite of "hidden" Google Apps available that serve as powerful collaboration tools. Learn more about these tools on the CS Work Together site.
Use Gmail for video chat
Set up video chat in Gmail and invite your friends and project partners to a face-to-face meeting.
Google adds new file saving features
Google has just rolled out the ability to upload, store, and share any file format in your Temple Google Docs account. Uploading files to the cloud allows them to be safely stored in their original format, downloaded from anywhere, and accessible at all times.
