Welcome

Classroom Technology Support is a service-oriented department committed to enriching the educational experience at Temple University. We support all centrally controlled technology classrooms as well as deliver and maintain a pool of media equipment to support academic instruction for degree-granting programs in all colleges on the Main, Ambler, Tyler, and Center City campuses.

CTS Services

Faculty can request technology classrooms by submitting a completed Technology Classroom Reservation Request Form. Faculty can request equipment delivered to their class on Main Campus by filling an Online Form. Faculty can also request equipment by phone to the main CTS number at 215-204-0606 or by walking into the appropriate CTS Depot. CTS also provides support for non-credit and special events. For more specific information, please refer to the web page about requesting equipment and ISS services for non-credit and special events.

CTS Policies

Support for academic events
Classroom technology support services, including the opening and securing of technology classrooms and delivery and set up of media equipment, are provided for free to any course that is:

  • held on-campus,
  • scheduled during the normal operational hours of the Classroom Technology Services group, and
  • scheduled in a building and during a time as defined by the CTS Area of Service

Additionally, the request for service must be from the instructor in charge of the course, and the requested equipment must be available.

Support for non-credit and special events
The primary function of Classroom Technology Support (CTS) is to meet the media and technology needs of instructors teaching for-credit courses in the classroom environment. Support for special events such as meetings, conferences and other non-credit events may be provided, if the facilities and/or equipment are available and the event is scheduled in a building supported by CTS during normal operating hours as defined in the CTS Area of Support. As of September 1, 2002, service to events scheduled outside the normal CTS hours of operation or scheduled in buildings that are not in the defined CTS Area of Service may be provided if staff and equipment are available but will be subject to a $35 per hour per building per event fee.

Support for off-campus events
Because of security, liability, transportation, and other issues, Classroom Technology Services cannot provide equipment and/or support services for events that are not held on a Temple University campus.
