| Netscape
4.0 and later
for Wireless Connection
Users When using Temple's wireless network zones, you must enable Netscape to go through Temple's proxy server. Otherwise, you will not be able to access Temple's restricted websites (such as library databases) or any websites outside of Temple. This section describes how to configure, enable, and disable the proxy server information when using a wireless 802.11b (Wi-Fi) connection along with Netcape 4.0 and later. These instructions apply to you if you are connecting to Temple's wireless network zones, with the exception of the Law School. Law Students: For information on wireless resources, contact Julie Allmayer at allmayer@temple.edu or (215)-204-3099
Now, when connected to the Internet, your web session will be directed through Temple's proxy server and you will be prompted to enter your AccessNet username and password. You would only want to do this if you are connecting to a wireless network at Temple or if you are connecting from home and want to access Temple's restricted resources. Otherwise, you should disable the proxy information and enable it only when needed.
