Connect to the Internet through Wireless

Temple provides free wireless Internet access throughout the University to all current students, faculty, and staff as well as alumni and guests. Wireless connections are available through the following networks:

Residence Hall Only Networks

Who is entitled to this service?

• University-Wide Networks
  Current Temple students, faculty, and staff as well as alumni and guests*
  
  *In accordance with the Granting Systems Access and Guest Cards to Guests guidelines, a guest is anyone sponsored by a current Temple student or employee. Guests include, but are not limited to, parents, friends, product vendors, conference attendees, and outside organizations, such as news media personnel.
  
  
• Residence Hall Only Networks
  Current Temple students or staff residing in one of the following residence halls: Hardwick, Johnson, "1940", Peabody, Temple Towers, "1300", White, or Podiatry.
  
  
• Beasley School of Law Only Network
  Current Temple students, faculty, and staff in the Beasley School of Law.

What are the limitations and restrictions related to this service?

This service is available where there is a wireless network signal. Temple continues to expand its wireless hot-spots, however, some areas do not have wireless access, such as classrooms, conference rooms, and athletic facilities. A list of wireless locations is available on the Temple Wireless website.

What are the requirements for using this service?

• WiFi-enabled device
• login credentials
• completing a registration process (TUresnet and TUresnetextra)

What is the time frame for fulfillment of service?

• Current Temple students, faculty, staff, and alumni: this service is available immediately; a request is not necessary.
  
  
• Temple guest: login credentials will be provided to your sponsor within one business day, during normal Help Desk business hours. Note that bulk account requests of 15 or more require up to three business days to process.

When is this service available for use?

The wireless network is available 24 hours a day throughout the year except during periods of scheduled maintenance or any unforeseen network or electrical problems.

What is the cost of this service?

There is no cost associated with this service.

How do I request this service?

• University-Wide Networks
  • Current Temple students, faculty, staff, and alumni: this service is available immediately; a request is not necessary.
    
    
• Temple guest: the Temple sponsor must contact the Help Desk at 215-204-8000 (1-8000) or go to TUhelp and submit a request that includes the guest name(s) and the duration of the visit.
  
  
• Residence Hall Only Networks
  • Current Temple students or staff residing in one of the following residence halls: Hardwick, Johnson, "1940", Peabody, Temple Towers, "1300", White, or Podiatry: this service is available after performing a mandatory registration process.
    
    
• Beasley School of Law Only Network
  • Current Temple students, faculty, staff in the Beasley School of Law: this service is available immediately; a request is not necessary.
