 Overview
Temple University's Computer Services purhcases an annual site license for Red Hat Enterprise Linux, which is the leading development platform for open source computing.
The license period runs from May 25th through the following May 24th each year.
Eligibility
This software is available for by current faculty, staff, administration and currently enrolled students.

and Conditions
The use of Red Hat Enterprise Linux is covered by two agreements: Red Hat's
end user license agreement ("EULA") and the Free Software Foundation's GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE

In addition, applications developed using open source software code are generally required to share back the developed product with the open source community and at no charge under certain circumstances.

Pricing and Products
Both Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Desktop and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 server are available. Though the software is provided at no charge, there is also no technical provided support.
Supported versions of Red Hat products are available on a subscription basis from our Red Hat Academic Reseller. If you are interested in this option contact Computer Business Services at 1-5000 (215-204-5000) or email software@temple.edu.
Upgrade Options
Our subscription license entitles Temple to any product updates or upgrades released during the subscription period.
