SOMA Contract Renewals & Increase in Hourly Time and Materials Rate
Current SOMA Maintenance Contracts will expire on June 30th. Renewal notices will be distributed via email. Please be sure to renew your contract by Friday, June 7th. Visit our Hardware Maintenance page for pricing and order placement information.
As of July 1, 2013, the hourly labor rate for SOMA Time and Materials will be increased to $79.00 (with a minimum charge of one half hour's work or $39.50) plus the cost of any parts that may be needed.
Microsoft to Drop Support for Windows XP & Office 2003
Effective April 8, 2014, Microsoft will officially drop support for these products. Take a look at the Computer Services' Tech Bit for more information.
Windows 8 and Office 2013 Work at Home Distribution
Computer Business Services will begin distributing Microsoft Windows 8 Professional Upgrade and Office Professional Plus 2013 on Tuesday, April 2nd. Eligible Faculty and Staff can come to the 8th Floor of Carnell Hall between the hours of 11am and 1pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to obtain the Microsoft Work-At-Home Software. Those who wish to partake in the distribution must come in person. Be sure to bring valid TUid.
Distributions will also occur at the TASB on the following at the follwing time:
- TASB - Thursday, May 9th, from 11am to 2pm in Conference Room 1H.
SAS Renewals
SAS Renewal Notices have gone out to those who purchased a SAS license during the 2012 - 2013 license term. Computer Business Services has just recieved the renewal files for the 2013 - 2014 license term and is working to get all of the received renewal requests filled.
Tablet Purchases
Departments are not permitted to purchase any tablets (i.e. Apple iPads, Nexus 7, Kindle Fire, Microsoft Surface) using their PCard. All tablets must be purchased via the available Punch-out vendors in TUmarketplace.
