Blackboard Mobile Learn
Resources for Faculty
The Blackboard Learn Mobile app is a convenient way for students to access course materials on their smartphones. Students can check grades, read blogs, and see notifications on their phone. For a list of available features, see the Get the Blackboard App web page.
While the mobile version offers convenient access, it does not include all the features available in the web version of Blackboard. For example, instructors are limited in the types of test questions that are available using the mobile app. Also, certain features, such as reading blog postings, will prompt students to open a web browser on their mobile devices.
In addition, Computer Services recommends that instructors use Save As to save Word files in Word 97-2003 (.doc) format before uploading them to Blackboard. Students using the mobile app may experience problems viewing Microsoft Word 2010 and Word 2007 (.docx) files.
