General Frequently Asked Questions

How can I get an access card for a guest or vendor of Temple University/Health System so they can gain access to buildings, parking lots or purchases?

If you are a main campus employee then contact your the Human Resources office at 204-7174 and request a form for a Courtesy Card. Human Resources must authorize the request.
If you are a Health System employee then you may complete the Courtesy Card request form, have your department head sign the form and send the form to Administrative Computer Services.

Who do I contact to borrow a wireless reader for my event being held on or near campus?

The Diamond Dollars office maintains one wireless reader for special events. Contact the Diamond Dollars office for availability and procedures for scheduling usage.

If the training is related to Diamond Dollars, contact the Diamond Dollars office; email ddollars@blue.temple.edu. Non-Diamond Dollars training is typically handled by Administrative Computer Services; contact Jeff Bazin at email Baz@temple.edu.

Who do I contact to have a security reader added to my building or departments' entrance?

Requests for new security reader installations begin with a Work Order Request forwarded to the Office of Facilities Management. They will perform a site feasibility analysis with projected costs for the installation. Once you agree to move forward with the project, a service request needs to be submitted to the following departments to support the project tasks: Administrative Computer Services to program the reader and cardholders; Office of Telecommunications to provide network connectivity to the security reader. Contact Administrative Computer Services with any questions about this process.

Who do I contact to have a Diamond Dollars Point of Sale reader installed for my department or business?

New location requests for Diamond Dollars are processed by the Diamond Dollars office, who will instruct you on the procedures for this project.

Who do I contact if I want to add a new Datacard ID carding PC/camera system?

Contact Administrative Computer Services at 1-5536 or 1-1129.

Who do I contact about new possible uses for the access card around campus?

Contact the Diamond Dollars office at 1-1250 or Administrative Computer Services at 1-5536 or 1-1129.

Who administers the access card system?

The Diamond Dollars office administers the access card system for students, faculty and staff in coordination with Administrative Computer Services.

How can I get documentation on the operation or installation of my Point of Sale readers from Blackboard?

Contact Administrative Computer Services at 1-5536 or 1-1129. They can provide you with an electronic copy of Blackboard's reader documentation for setup and operating features.
