Subject: Blackboard Update: Faculty Portal

Computer Services is happy to announce that Phase 2 of the faculty portal was made available this morning at about 7:30 a.m.

Features of the faculty portal include:

  • a "Faculty Links" box on the "My Portal" screen that contains links to resources frequently used by faculty.
  • a "TUlibrary" tab that enables you to access Temple University library resources from off campus without configuring your browser to go through Temple's proxy server.
  • a "My Backpack" tab that provides you with access to a pilot system for storing, sharing, and accessing your personal files online using a web browser.
  • Turnitin plagiarism detection software available through the "Assignments" tool in Blackboard courses. In additon, instructions for using Turnitin are also available on the Instructional Support Center Web site.
  • a "Course Tools" tab for easy access to class lists and other course-related tasks.

If you have questions or would like one-on-one assistance using these new resources, please contact one of the Instructional Support Centers (ISCs). Also, if you have comments regarding the faculty portal or suggestions to further enhance the faculty portal, please contact me or one of the ISC consultants. Your feedback is very much appreciated and valued.
