Curriculum

Developed by researchers and scientists from Northwestern University, CPS high school biology teachers, and educators from the Museum of Science and Industry, Disease Detectives is an inquiry-based, technology-enhanced, high school biology curriculum.   Since 2002, over 1300 students in sixteen CPS high schools have used this unit.   Students learn all the core biology concepts about cellular structures and functions, energy processes of living things, and the chemistry of biological processes in the context of solving a medical mystery associated with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), the leading cause of death in the U.S.   All materials will be provided for your enactment.
