Phyllis Wat received her M.A. in poetry in 1987. Her thesis was titled King Log and the Blue Honey. She is the author of The Fish Soup Bowl Expedition from Ten Pell Books and Shadow Blue from Hot Water Press. She is a founding editor of 6ix magazine and has received numerous awards including a poetry grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. In 2005 she founded Straw Gate Books.
