Christopher McCreary received his M.A. in 1997; his thesis was titled Jerry’s Dead. Chris is the author of The Effacements (Singing Horse) as well as the chapbooks Dismembers, Sansom Agonistease and clockwork. His poetry has been featured in publications such as Ambit, Kiosk, LVNG, Rhizome, and Ur-Vox. In addition, his reviews and interviews have appeared in venues such as The Poker, Rain Taxi, Review of Contemporary Fiction, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and XConnect, as well as on the PhillySound weblog. Along with co-editor Jenn McCreary, Chris runs ixnay press, a small press dedicated to the publication of experimental writing. To date, the press has published eight issues of ixnay magazine, five chapbooks, an occasional newsletter, and the first installment of the ixnay reader, a mini-anthology of regular ixnay contributors. In the future, the press will continue its “reader” series and move into the realm of single-author books as well. He has taught literature and creative writing at Temple University, Drexel University, and the Germantown Friends School. He is now on the faculty of Episcopal Academy in Philadelphia.
