Dale Wedig

Wedig has an undergraduate degree in Physical Education and wrestled in competitively throughout his college years. His first introduction to metals was at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with Professor William Fiorini. Wedig says,

"I heard him yelling at his class and I stuck my head in his classroom door. I took a class the next semester."

Wedig has been influenced by William Fiorini, Chuck Evans, David Pimentel and Fred Fenster. Experiencing metalsmiths and craftsmen working until they pass away is truly an inspiration for Wedig. Wedig also believes that learning the value of discipline to finish a task or idea in order to evaluate its worth and his worth, as an artist, is important.

Dale Wedig has exhibited and lectured extensively nationwide. His work may be seen in various permanent installations across the country.
