AUGUST 1999

SIGGRAPH 99 – Los Angeles, California

THE STUDIO 99 (On-Site Worker)

The Studio at Siggraph offers a lab (about 100 work stations) to both scientists and artists and sophisticated high end 2D and 3D printers and RP output systems. Studio99 is a bridge linking state of the art design, 2D printing and 3D production technologies with the creative community, both arts and the technical. Inclusion of 3D tactile printing and Rapid Fabrication technologies is new to SIGGRAPH’s 1999 conference and offers an exciting look at cutting edge production technologies. Creators (scientists, engineers, artists) are able to walk in, create and make outputs (both 2D and 3D) and walk away with their pieces…hands on experience and creativity is the goal. My responsibilities for this event include setting up the workstations, software installation, tutorial development and daily on-site tutorial/workshop presentations.

FALL 1997

Studio Lab Technician

Metalsmithing/Jewelry/CAD-CAM

Tyler School of ART

A fellow colleague and myself co-taught Senior Metals and Plastics. All aspects of benchwork, cad-cam, graduate school, production, presentation, slide taking, advanced conceptual ideas and design skills were fully explored. Every facet of this class was thoroughly developed to help the students explore and evolve a personal visual language; individuality and independence with the intent that structured freedom would better prepare them for the decisions that come with graduation.
