[air vent rotation] A forced air vent. The original design for this object predates the rest of Schema by about a year. It centers around a scene of digital trees (electronic circuitry) with an analog breeze (a sine wave) flowing through them. The vertical pattern of the circuit works with the horizontal pattern of the wave to create the grill openings.

Both the circuit plate and the wave grill could be realized via a variety of rapid prototyping technologies, then cast in aluminum and anodized. The circuit plate is millable by CNC. The wave grill is bolted to the circuit plate from the back.

The circuit plate is approx. 45cm by 26cm. The wave grill stands 5cm from the wall at its apex.

CNC: computer-numerically-controlled (mill/lathe/etc.)
