Ideas for Finding Trainings
The majority of public health emergency preparedness trainings in Pennsylvania are available through the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), and institutions of higher education.
- The Pennsylvania Department of Health and PEMA offer a variety of online and classroom-based trainings, which can be accessed through the PA Prepared Learning Management System. **NOTE**: All web-based courses posted in the PA Prepared Learning Management System (LMS) are not accessible by all registered users. If you would like access to a course not currently assigned to you, you may contact LMS@state.pa.us or 717-346-0640. Please provide your name, LMS username, and the title(s) of the courses you wish to view and your request will be reviewed.
- Pennsylvania is home to a multitude of colleges and universities, some of which offer courses, degrees, and/or certificates in emergency preparedness. Institutions in Pennsylvania and other states with offerings in emergency preparedness are listed on the federal Emergency Management Institute's College List website, where they are listed by state and program.
- Because college and university courses in emergency preparedness are constantly evolving, you should contact institutions directly for updated information about their offerings.
