How do I use this database?

Please follow the directions below for directions on using the database. The database requires your computer to have Microsoft Access, which is a standard part of Microsoft Office Suite software on most computers.

Directions:

  1. Print or save the 9-page document How do I use this database.pdf. This document contains the following sections: a brief overview of the database; instructions for opening it; definitions and descriptions of search and results categories; and three short examples of how to perform a competency search. We strongly recommend that you print the document, but if you do not have access to a printer, you may save it and open it in another browser window.
  2. Follow the instructions in the above document to open the database Preparedness Competencies.mde.
  3. Follow the three practice examples in the above document to familiarize yourself with using the database for a variety of purposes.
