Pseudotyped HIV-1 as a Bioterrorist Weapon:
Advancing Strategies for Rapid Prevention and Response Treatment

Genetic engineering of the HIV-1 genome to overcome receptor restriction could result in its potential use a bioterroism agent. This project aims to develop understanding of the feasibility and mechanisms underlying this approach to bioterrorism and research potential prophylactic and therapeutic treatments.

Recent Accomplishments :

  • Designing of HIV based DNA epitopes for cloning into plasmid for expression lymphocytes.
  • Andrea Raymond and Lori Anne Turner attained PhD under the leadership of Dr. Earl E. Henderson and published papers as primary authors.
