About C-PREP
|
Department of Public Health Alice Hausman, Director of C-PREP, holds a PhD in Anthropology (SUNY-Binghamton) and received her MPH in Population Sciences (Harvard School of Public Health). Currently she is Chair of the Department of Public Health at Temple University; before that she was Director of the MPH program. Her research focus applies her training in social science and public health to areas related to public health practice, specifically the development and evaluation of community based, primary prevention programs. She has worked with a wide range of community-based organizations, as well as the Philadelphia Department of Public Health and the PA Department of Health. Dr. Hausman’s publications reflect her interests in evaluation and connections between research and practice. Recent papers include “Community Correlates to Concerns about Bioterrorism And Emergency Preparedness", and "Implications of Evidence-Based Practice in Community Health". Dr. Hausman has served in elected positions for the Executive Committee of the Public Health and Preventive Medicine Section at the Philadelphia College of Physicians and the Executive Board of the Pennsylvania Public Health Association. She has served at the national level as a grant reviewer for the National Institute on Environmental Health Sciences, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Maternal and Child Health Bureau. She has also served as an advisory committee member for SAMSHA, and a HUD committee on youth violence.
