WELCOME

C-PREP is an interdisciplinary research center created to establish nationally relevant policies, programs and practices that will enhance emergency preparedness, response and recovery.

Over the past 4 years, C-PREP has been continuously funded by various state and local agencies to conduct applied research and develop products to assist with the Commonwealth’s emergency planning and response.

Training activities include personal preparedness to schools and community organizations; special population emergency management to regional government agencies; risk communication, cultural competency, and psychological first aid training for a wide range of audiences.

Research areas include perceptual mapping studies, population-based surveys on knowledge and concerns regarding emergencies, and development and implementation of a system (SPAR-GIS) for obtaining and mapping a range of data that can assist emergency planning and response for special populations.
