Accounting Information
Systems
Welcome to Temple
University's Accounting Information Systems site.
Our mission: to
promote the use of our Accounting Information Systems, improve
continuously their usefulness and usability, broaden the access to them
and expand and enrich their content; to maximize the value and benefits of
our Accounting Information Systems to their users.
Our accounting systems are mainframe based (MVS/CICS) and include a number of
vendor supplied apps, such as GL, AP and Purchasing and Fixed Assets (Geac),
as well as internally developed apps, such as Grant Accounting. We actively
use several reporting tools, including Millennium Query, ViewPrint and DRW,
and we have developed custom PC-based accounting tools, such as PCJet.
Since the development of FMS on the Web, we are able to bring the full content
of our accounting applications to the community through easy-to-use on-line tools.
FMS on the Web offers on-demand access to current and historical cost center
information. On-line FMS reports support drill-down and cross-reference through
many embedded hyperlinks, and all are downloadable in a number of popular formats.
In addition, many custom reports are made available through the unique FMS RePortal.
If you have a comment or question on anything you find here, or you have an
idea that you'd like to discuss, please e-mail it to our Director,
Paul Amrhein.
