Angel Flight East This organization serves the community by helping provide air transportation for medical and compelling needs. Volunteer pilots are needed as well as “Earth Angels” to raise funds, flight coordination as well as office administration. Americorps. Volunteers help in intense services to meet critical needs in education, public safety, health and the environment. Art Sanctuary This organization uses Black Arts as a means to transform and unite people and draw inspiration from the inner city. Volunteers can help coordinate events and other miscellaneous services. Catholic Social Services Community Service Center Provides social, cultural, educational and enrichment services, regarding drugs, illegal activities and recreational services. Energy Coordinating Agency Private non- profit organization that ensures low or moderate income families with safe affordable energy and water. This environmentally charged organization needs volunteers to help coordinate events. Free Library of Philadelphia Volunteers help with reading, Book sales, maintenance of the library and help with a variety of special events. Philadelphia Cares Provides information and volunteer opportunities for a number of different organizations in and around the Philadelphia area. Philadelphia Horticultural Society Volunteers help at many events including the large Philadelphia Flower show. People serve as committee members, as well as planting partners. The Philadelphia Orchestra Volunteers help with student concerts. They provide instruction for students in private and public schools. They can also act as ambassadors welcoming people, as well as tour guides. Student Environment Action Coalition This organization is a student/youth run national network aiming to help environmental injustice through action and education. Uhuru Furniture Store Looking for volunteers. This is a fundraising project of the African People’s Education and Defense Fund. Volunteers help in delivery and pickup of furniture as well as sales, advocacy and community programs. The Verity Foundation Volunteers aid non-profit organizations with their marketing and technology resources. They need people willing to work in marketing, graphic design and writing to aid their grant teams.
