Acres of Diamonds - Volunteerism

Service was one of the principles behind the founding of Temple University, and we strive to continue to serve the community in the spirit of Russell Conwell. Conwell in his “Acres of Diamonds” speech asserted that it was the duty of all to meet the needs of the community. Working in the community is an opportunity for you to get to know your neighbors, apply your skills and give of yourself in a meaningful and rewarding way.

The Office of Community Relations encourages all members of the Temple community to engage in service, and we want to support your passion for service whether you are a student, faculty or staff. We are particularly interested in helping groups of volunteers to identify and implement projects that support the nonprofits located in the areas surrounding the Main and Health Sciences Campuses.
