Community Projects

Temple works with a number of leading community organizations in the Philadelphia area through in-kind and material support and by providing student, faculty and staff as volunteers. Nonprofits we are currently developing and coordinating volunteer activities which include:

Mission - To help families achieve their greatest potential by providing health and human services, and engaging in community and economic development activities. Activities for Volunteering – Love Your Park – Saturday, November 16, 2013; Financial Opportunity Center Workforce Development series; and development of a new community garden.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Mission – To provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better. Activities for Volunteering – Volunteering with neighborhood schools. Volunteers are needed for Alliance for Progress Charter School and the Boys and Girls Club. Approximately 25 males are needed for recruitment.

Gray Manor

Gray Manor offers independent living for senior citizens Activities for Volunteering – Visiting with residents (reading books, playing games, and watching television); clean-up projects; and serving holiday meals.

Habitat for Humanity
