Wireless Internet Access

WiFi LogoCollege-Wide Wireless Project Complete - Installation of 192 Meru wireless access points (APs) was completed in August 2008 and the new college-wide wireless network is now in place. The new wireless network replaced the former wireless network comprised of 12 802.11b-only APs and available only in building lobbies. All indoor and the immediately surrounding outdoor areas of Anderson and Gladfelter Halls now have wireless coverage, as well as the CLA areas in Weiss and Ritter Halls plus the Academic Advising Center on the 3rd floor of 1810 Liacouras Walk. Initially the 11 Mbit 802.11b and 54 Mbit 802.11g standards will are supported but we hope to have support for the 54 Mbit 802.11a and 248 Mbit 802.11n networks by early 2010. The new less obtrusive WiFi4Owls security paradigm has replaced the former WEP-based Wireless4Owls network.

For more information on how to connect, see TU Wireless.
