Verizon Wireless

For over two years now Verizon Wireless  has been  the exclusive provider of cellular services for Temple University. A benefit of this agreement is a discount on personal services and cellular accessories for Temple employees. I'm pleased to announce that the Verizon contract was recently renegotiated and the employee discount rates for personal cellular plans  has been increased.

Starting on December 18, 2008,  the following discounts are available:

• There is now  a 17% discount for all monthly access plans. Previously to the renegotiation this discount was 15%.  For example, a  $39.99/month plan for 450 minutes is now only $33.19 after the 17% discount.
• There is now  a 20% discount for all add-on features such as data plans, BlackBerry service, text messaging plans, and visual voice mail. Previously there was no discount available. For example, a $39.99 unlimited data plan is now only $31.99 after the 20% discount.
• A 25% discount is available for  all cellular accessories ordered via the Verizon Wireless website.

These discounts will automatically apply to those who have signed up for them in the past, so no renewal is required. The discounts can be verified by logging into your Verizon Wireless  account online or by checking your monthly bill.

For Temple employees who are Verizon Wireless customers and have not signed up for the discount in the past, go to the Temple Telecommunications website, log in with your AccessNet username and password, and then click on "Employees" section on the Verizon Wireless website in order to apply for the discount on an existing Verizon Wireless plan.
