- TUmobile Application Launched - TUmobile v.1.0, an application that lets you tap into all your
Temple needs, launched this week. The application includes a campus map, access to the library database, and more. It is available for both iPhones and Androids. (4/27/2011)
- Wireless Printing Now Available - As of Saturday, March 26, 2011, students are able to use their personal computers to print to lab printers via the Temple wireless network. For more information, please visit the Labs page. (3/28/2011)
- CLA Academic Listservs March 2011 Update - As of Tuesday, March 8, 2011, all of the CLA-managed academic Listservs are active with the most current enrollment data including majors, minors, and certificate programs. - ESRI Virtual Campus Online Courses - In February ESRI announced that they “will be transitionin
g all Standard and Educator Virtual Campus Annual User Licenses to Premium status” on March 1, which allows us to access an additional 12 online courses. Visit the Software page for more information. (3/7/2011)
- New Computers for Smart Classrooms - All CLA-owned smart classrooms will be updated over spring break with new computers. This update will include high-speed solid state hard drives, which are easily removable for quick turnaround due to drive or software failure. High-definition webcams will also be installed to support videoconferencing. (2/7/2011)
- Additional Computer Kiosks Installed - In Fall 2010 three kiosks were added to the Anderson Hall classroom wing outside of AC 103, and seven kiosks were installed on the second floor of Tuttleman Learning Center. (2/7/2011)
- Honors Computer Lab - Over the 2010 winter break CLA IT added nine computers to the drop-in honors lab in Tuttleman. Visit Labs for more details. (2/7/2011)

- New Ritter Annex Lab - CLA IT built a new drop-in computer lab with 12 computers in Ritter Annex 844 last summer. More information is available on the Labs page. (2/7/2011)
- Six Classrooms To Be Upgraded in Summer 2011 - CLA IT plans to implement smart classroom systems in six additional rooms during the summer of 2011, bringing the technology in AB 206, AB 406, AB 806, AB 906, AB 1106, and WH 517 to Level 2. (1/21/2011)
- Vinodh Ganesan Joins CLA IT Staff - We are pleased to announce the addition of Vinodh Ganesan to the CLA IT staff. Vinodh will be working on web and database infrastructure projects for the college, as well as on special duties for the Institute for Survey Research. (12/20/2010)
- Temple Receives New $1M Supercomputer - The National Science Foundation has awarded Temple with a Hybrid High-Performance GPU/CPU Supercomputer System as part of the NSF's Major Research Instrumentation Program. This will be the first supercomputer at Temple and is expected to be in place sometime in December 2010. (11/5/2010)
- Five Classrooms Upgraded with Technology - Five new smart classrooms systems were implemented during the summer of 2010 in Gladfelter Hall. Rooms Gladfelter 213, 231B, 247, 326, and 614 were outfitted with presentation and interactive technologies, which raises the percentage of smart rooms to approximately 70% with all rooms seating over 28 in Anderson, Gladfelter, and Weiss Halls having fixed presentation and control systems. ATLAS.ti v. 6 Now Available - CLA IT has upgraded our network license for the qualitative data analysis software package ATLAS.ti to the latest version, which features enhanced support for dealing with Adobe Acrobat files. The new version will be available in labs and classrooms for the Fall 2010 semester and can be requested for any Temple-owned desktop or laptop via TUHelp. (1/29/2010)
- Verizon Wireless Employee Discount - Temple's Verizon contract was renegotiated in the fall of 2008 and the Temple employee discount rates for personal cellular plans has been increased. Please see the memo on Verizon Wireless Employee Discounts for more information. (12/16/2009)
- Project Enterprise - Project Enterprise is a major university-wide
initiative to integrate and upgrade all major administrative systems into a consolidated, state-of-the-art database-driven infrastructure based on SunGard's HigherEducation Integrated Digital Campus platform. This $38 million, five-year Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation will replace Temple's aging mainframe systems including the Financial Management System (FMS), the Human Resources System (HRS), and the Student Information System (ISIS), as well as numerous other sub-systems that have been developed over the last 25 years. Approved by the Board of Trustees in June 2007, Project Enterprise is scheduled to be completely implemented by June 2011. (June 2007)
