It gives me great pleasure to welcome the School of Environmental Design which comprises the Department of Regional Planning, the Department of Landscape Architecture and Horticulture, and the Center for Sustainable Communities into the 16 academic departments and 12 interdisciplinary programs that comprise the College of Liberal Arts.  Temple University Board of Trustees has authorized the renaming of Ambler College as the School of Environmental Design effective July 1, 2009.  Also effective on July 1, the School of Environmental Design will become a school within the College of Liberal Arts at Temple University.  In light of these changes, the Ambler campus will retain its name and identity.
