Program Description:

C.J.T.P. conducts training programs for Constables in the Southeast region of Pennsylvania under a contract from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (P.C.C.D.).  The Southeast region includes: Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, Northampton, Berks, and Lehigh counties.

The 80-hour Basic Training program is usually offered twice a year at the Ft. Washington Campus.  It is designed to provide newly-elected or appointed Constables with training on topics such as civil law and process, criminal law and process, mechanics of arrest, use of force, defensive tactics, prisoner transportation, courtroom security, crisis intervention and professional development.

To register for classes
, newly appointed or elected Constables should register on-line using the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency web site for Basic Training.  To access the P.C.C.D. web site, click on the blue hyperlink.
