Mr Silverman has been at Temple since 1999 and teaches law-related courses on the court system, criminal law and capital punishment. He also has a passionate interest in the role racism plays in the criminal justice system and teaches a course specifically on that issue. His classes are noted for their innovative teaching techniques and highly interactive structure. He has an extensive background as a criminal defense post-conviction attorney who has successfully represented several death row inmates on their appeals in state and federal court.
