Course Goals:

Course goals are to learn and apply advanced techniques in web application and database transaction systems  to the development of an E-Commerce System.  The course is a continuation of CIS 618, which is its prerequisite.

 

Topics Covered:

(1) Web page and style sheet design, (2) dynamic web pages that access data from relational and XML databases, (3) server side transaction processing, (4) client/server and distributed processing, (5) principles of internet security, scalability, and database reliability, (6) Web Services, (7) online payment systems, (8) .NET programming, and (9) the Ajax technologies for improving system response.
