Students have a number of different Temple computing resources available to them.
- From the University, students are given an AccessNet account providing access to any Temple University system or resource. Students can use their AccessNet account for connection to 'astro', the University's time-sharing system, and for workstations in the TECH Center.
- Graduate students can apply for a personal account on the CIS laboratory systems. This means the Lucas (the Linux environment), the Nova (Windows Domain), and the Sun computer systems. Students can fill out a single form in room 203 to get an account on all systems.
- Undergraduate students can apply for a personal account on the CIS (Lucas) Linux, (Nova) Windows systems, and Sun systems. To get an account the student must either have a current CIS department "course account", or have a faculty sponsor. Individual CIS courses provide students with a 'course account' for the semester. These 'course accounts' are inactivated and removed at the end of the semester.
- Undergraduate CIS majors and CIS Graduate students can take advantage of free Microsoft software through our MSDN (Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance) program. The software is available from a consultant in Wachman Hall, room 205. Students can checkout CDs with software to load on their personal systems.
