The Social & Behavioral Health Interventions (SBHI) laboratory

The Social & Behavioral Health Interventions (SBHI) laboratory is housed in the Department of Public Health at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA (SBHI People).  SBHI’s mission is to develop, evaluate, and disseminate social and behavioral interventions to promote mental and physical health and well-being (SBHI Research).  We are especially interested in promoting health and well-being in vulnerable populations, such as people with chronic illness, children and the elderly, recent immigrants, and socially marginalized and minority groups.  SBHI also aims to advance theory and methods relevant to the development of social and behavioral health interventions. To support its mission, SBHI sponsors a journal club (Currents), professional development workshops (Star Track), and grant development initiatives (Sparks).  To sustain and promote generativity and innovation, SBHI interacts and collaborates with organizations and investigators both within and outside of Temple University (Friends).
