For Students (Paid & Unpaid)Cancer and Health Disparities Research in Asian American populations

Project Empower: Family violence in older African American womenProject Empower is an NIH funded study that is looking to examine the associations between lifetime exposure to family violence and health, through a grant awarded to Dr. Paranjape, an associate professor at the School of Medicine, Health Sciences Campus. Participants for this project are African American women over the age of 60, and will be recruited from the Temple Internal Medicine group practice, both in Jones Hall and the practice site on the 4th floor of Temple University Hospital, on the Health Sciences Campus. This project will allow a graduate level student who is interested in clinical research to gain research experience through experiences gained in the field. Study interviews will take place in the waiting room of each clinic and assessments will take place in a private room of the practice, on the same day.
