Health Research Associates is a consulting firm specializing in consultation for the development of research programs and securing research grant support. Founded in March of 1987, Health Research Associates provides advice and guidance to Research Resource Network members for efficient and effective strategies for enhancing research grant applications to federal, state, and private funders.

HRA provides consultations through individual, telephone and electronic mail meetings at any stage of your grant-writing process – specific aims, study design, background and significance, preliminary data, and your research plan.

Tips for Effectively Using HRA

1. Send your specific aims page first – after that is set, then other sections can be forwarded one at a time.

2. Remove all figures and illustrations from the documents you send - they take up space and cause transmission problems in most email systems.

3. Do not wait to send the complete application – it is not effective to see the complete application until you and Dr. Coehlo have worked on the individual parts.

4. If the proposal is in response to an program announcement or RFA, then send the link to the specific notice and instructions.
