NIH Grant Close Out Procedure
- Notify Joe Kain in the Dean's Office when you are ready to begin the process. For NIH grants, you have 90 days after the grant end date to submit all documentation. For other sponnsors, refer to your award letter for details. - Final Invention Statement. This form must be completed by the PI and submitted to the Dean's Office. SPA will sign and submit the form to NIH. Available from the NIH Forms and Applications web page. - FSR. This form will be completed and sent to NIH by Grant Accounting. Please coordinate with Joe Kain to ensure that no project expenses, including subaward invoices, are outstanding and that all expenses on the cost center are valid. - Progress Report. The progress report should be completed and submitted by the PI. The following instructions are excerpted from the NIH website. The final progress report should include a summary of progress toward the achievement of the originally stated aims, a list of the results (positive or negative) considered significant, and a list of publications.
