Temple Faculty Present at the

American Physical Therapy Association

 

A number of faculty members from the physical therapy department in the College of Health Professions will be presenting at the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) meeting last month in New Orleans.

  • Laurita M. Hack, P.T., M.B.A., Ph.D., professor and chair of physical therapy, will present “Contextualizing Ethics in Our Current Health Care Environment” as part of the panel discussion “Catching the Dream: Preparing Clinicians for a Lifetime of Moral Action.”
  • Mary Sinnott, P.T., M.Ed., associate professor of physical therapy, will discuss “Interdependent Practice and the Limits of Professional Autonomy” as part of the presentation “Actualizing Physical Therapy Autonomy Through Collaborative Practice.” Sinnott is currently serving her second term as president of the Health Policy and Administration section of the APTA.
  • Jim Stephens, P.T., Ph.D., associate professor of physical therapy, will present his work on the Feldenkrais Method for people with Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis at the meeting of the Degenerative Diseases Special Interest Group on alternative and complimentary therapy.
  • Kristin von Nieda, P.T., M.E.d., associate professor and director of the transition D.P.T. program, will present her poster "Comparison of non-attendance rates of insured and uninsured patients in an urban outpatient physical therapy clinic."
