Faculty & Staff
Bradley N. Collins, PhD
Assistant Professor
Director, Health Behavior Research Clinic

Dr. Collins is a clinical psychologist by training and was hired in the summer of 2005 to expand his research in health psychology. He has extensive clinical experience as well as
a history of applied and laboratory-based research in addictive behavior. Currently, he directs the Health Behavior Research Clinic, which maintains an active research program including collaborative projects with faculty and students across departments in the CHP and CLA as well as the Department of Pediatrics. Much of his research focuses on intervention development and examining factors that not only influence health behavior change, but also maximize the generalizability of behavior change beyond the treatment setting. Examples of Dr. Collins’ ongoing funded research includes a behavioral counseling trial for postpartum smokers, testing cue extinction procedures for smoking relapse prevention, individual- and neighborhood-level factors that influence adult smoking behavior and childhood obesity, and factors that influence provider adherence to guidelines addressing chronic health behavior problems (e.g., smoking, obesity, etc.) Through his research, teaching, and mentorship, Dr. Collins promotes a transdisciplinary approach to training graduate students to help prepare students for the challenges of their academic and career futures.
