Affiliates to Temple's TR Program

Professional organizations play a vital role in promoting the Therapeutic Recreation discipline in the changing health care arena. But they can only exist with your involvement. All students are encouraged to become members of a national professional organization (ATRA and NTRS). There are two local professional organizations addressing the needs of recreation therapists in the Philadelphia region. Both organizations offer student memberships.

They are the Pennsylvania Therapeutic Recreation Society and the
New Jersey/Eastern Pennsylvania Therapeutic Recreation Association. Consider joining one or both today.

Temple TR students are encouraged to attend therapeutic recreation workshops and conferences to further their education and to develop a resource network. Active participation (e.g., volunteering at conferences) increases networking opportunities and assists students to learn more about their future profession.
